Hours after watching the New York Knicks lose to the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden—where the president was loudly booed—Trump reshared a social media post from Fox News contributor Nicole Parker claiming that “NYC loves Donald Trump.”

While some people could be heard chanting Trump’s name in the clip that the 79-year-old reshared at 2:11 a.m. ET on Tuesday, it also featured New Yorkers loudly booing the president as he rode by with his extensive security detail.

Trump was also booed when he appeared on the jumbotrons during Monday night’s game between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, most notably during the performance of the National Anthem.

Even before his 2 a.m. Truth Social post attempting to rewrite history, the 79-year-old president had insisted that he received a warm welcome at the NBA Finals.

Trump’s decision to attend the game resulted in major security disruptions and headaches for fans with tickets.

A planned watch party outside Madison Square Garden had to be canceled for security reasons, while several blocks around the arena were closed to both pedestrians and vehicles so the president’s motorcade could pass through.

The heightened security measures, combined with requests for fans to arrive at least two hours early, led to long lines outside the venue as attendees waited to enter.

Despite the extensive preparations made to accommodate the president’s appearance, Trump appeared to doze off at one point during the game.

The war is a strategic catastrophe, gas is like $5 a gallon, it’s blatantly illegal and destroying the economic future of this country. Nah, who cares? It’s just boring. He got on the phone with CNBC and said, “Honestly. I really don’t care. I couldn’t care less. If they’re over, they’re over. If they’re not, you know, I think they took too much time. Frankly, I thought they started to get very boring.” Like he’s watching a filler episode of Heated Rivalry. That’s the commander in chief in a war he started on behalf of Israel against America’s interests, as we waste our entire weapons arsenal, only to give up almost immediately after losing at every conceivable level. An embarrassment.

He didn’t just lose interest, he’s actively losing, and that’s his only kryptonite. No plan, no objective, no authorization, and now the Strait of Hormuz is a parking lot, oil spiked 8% percent in a single afternoon, and even his own party is done holding the bag as voters look at gas prices in disgust. So he’s doing the only thing he knows how to do when he’s losing. He’s pretending he wanted to leave the whole time. The talks got boring. He’s taking his ball and going home. Again. And Again. And Again.

Look at what’s actually happening in the Senate. For months Republicans lined up like good little minions and killed every single war powers resolution Democrats put in front of them. Then slowly it began dawning on them what this war really means. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul at first, now Bill Cassidy, who Trump just primaried into the ground, walked right onto the floor and voted yes, because what’s Trump going to do, threaten their careers?

And over in the House it’s even more pathetic, because last month Mike Johnson had a war powers vote scheduled and then yanked it off the floor at the last second. Why? Because he knew he was going to lose. He knew there were enough Republicans ready to cross the aisle and vote to take Trump’s war away from him, or at the very least embarrass him, and it’s not clear which one would be worse for Trump, or for that matter, his lapdog Mike. That vote is coming back this month, by the way. The recess is over and the vote is waiting.

So put it together. Trump’s own Republicans are about to vote, in public, with their names attached, to strip him of a war he is personally losing. And right on cue, the very same day, here he is on CNBC basically saying, “The negotiations? Oh those, yeah I don’t care, those got boring, I was barely paying attention.” He’s quitting before getting fired, and tweeting 56 times in one day on his way out the door.

He is literally telling us he doesn’t care about us at all. They asked him about gas prices, about Americans getting crushed financially, and his answer is, “Once you explain that this is all about Iran having a nuclear weapon, people are willing to pay a little bit more.” He floated a fantasy about gas dropping to a buck eighty-five like it was in Iowa, and then says NATO is weak and sad and he doesn’t need them anyway. The whole thing is a man who has no idea what he’s doing narrating his own collapse in a way that makes him look addled and delusional.

This is what losing looks like when you’re a narcissist. Republicans are running for the exits, the war he picked is bleeding him dry, and the strongman’s big final move is to call the whole thing boring and hang up the phone. He didn’t end the war. He just rage-quit and called everyone a loser on his way out.

“I understand artists are getting ‘the yips’ having to do with their performance on Wednesday, so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the world,” Trump, 79, posted on Saturday.

The president then went on to reveal who the main attraction was, bizarrely writing about himself in the third person: “the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Though the 79-year-old president referred to an event taking place “on Wednesday,” he appeared to be referencing the Great American State Fair, a festival scheduled to run on the National Mall between June 25 and July 10.

Nine acts, including country star Martina McBride, rapper Young MC, and Poison frontman Bret Michaels, were announced this week as musical guests, but two-thirds have since canceled their appearances.

Trump billed his post as an official decree, saying that “by copy of this TRUTH” he was ordering his representatives to see if he can hold an “AMERICA IS BACK” rally in Washington, D.C., at the “same time, same location.”

“I don’t want so-called ‘Artists’ that get paid far too much money, who aren’t happy,” he wrote.

Artists claim that the event was described to them as featuring performers as a non-partisan celebration of U.S. history, despite it being organized by the MAGA-backed Freedom 250 initiative.

Trump, who turns 80 next month, has appeared to nod off during several engagements, most recently at a Memorial Day event at Arlington Cemetery on Monday. Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a professor of medicine and the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the George Washington University Hospital, and also cardiologist to the late former Vice President Dick Cheney, has said this could be evidence of a “severe illness.”

“The president has severe daytime somnolence. He falls asleep very often. He’s fallen asleep in the Oval Office on multiple occasions with people talking to him in the Cabinet room, and I was concerned yesterday that he might have fallen asleep at Arlington National Cemetery during Memorial Day observances,” Reiner said on CNN News Central.

He added a warning: “Chronic insomnia is a severe illness. It can result in an increase in risk of dementia, decrease in cognitive effects in older people.”

There has also been increasing speculation about Trump’s mental acuity of late. Last month. Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said in an interview with Politico that he believes the president “has dementia.” Many medical experts agree that he is showing signs of the disease his father suffered from.

Last month, Democratic Maryland congressman Jamie Raskin pressed the White House physician for a full evaluation of Trump’s cognitive abilities. In a letter to Sean Barbabella, the Navy captain serving as Trump’s official doctor, Raskin argued that Trump’s behavior warrants a “comprehensive cognitive assessment.”

Raskin, who demanded the results be shared publicly, echoed the concerns of professionals and said: “Experts have repeatedly warned that the President has been exhibiting signs consistent with dementia and cognitive decline. And, in recent days, the country has watched President Trump’s public statements and outbursts turn increasingly incoherent, volatile, profane, deranged, and threatening,” wrote Raskin, the senior Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee.

Trump, who received five military deferments during the 1960s, four for academic reasons and one for bone spurs, started the national holiday by airing personal grievances, rather than issuing a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s fallen.

During a flurry of Monday morning Truth Social posts, the 79-year-old delivered a glib homage, writing, “Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year. God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Naveed Shah, an Army veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and a director of advocacy group Common Defense, said that he was offended by the message. “Trump has demonstrated over and over again that he hates the troops,” he said, before listing specific examples.

“From calling the troops who died in WWI ‘suckers and losers,’ to mocking John McCain’s 5 years as a POW, to attacking the Gold Star Khan family, all the way back to 2016 when he lied about donating to Veterans groups. He has never missed a chance to dishonor the people he was never brave enough to stand beside,” Shah explained.

Trump also made a joke about his draft dodging history during his self-congratulatory speech.

Journalists gathered on the White House North Lawn were rushed indoors as the area was rapidly locked down, with members of the press directed into the briefing room.

ABC News White House correspondent Selina Wang said she was filming a social media video when the shots rang out.

“I was in the middle of taping on my iPhone for a social video from the White House North Lawn when we heard the shots,” Wang wrote on Twitter.

“It sounded like dozens of gunshots. We were told to sprint to the press briefing room, where we are holding now.”

CNN White House correspondent Julia Benbrook later reported that the shots appeared to come from outside the White House grounds.

“These gunshots, though, to be clear, appeared outside of the grounds, closer to the EEOB building,” she said, referring to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which is located next to the West Wing and houses the offices for several White House staffers as well as the Office of the Vice President.

Many are already asking if this event was staged amid Donald Trump’s humiliated negotiations with Iran.

According to the New York Times, after Bondi was sworn in as attorney general in February 2025, she immediately placed guardrails around settlements “that largely prohibited payments to groups not involved in an underlying lawsuit.” Now those same restrictions are threatening to derail the Trump administration’s controversial compensation scheme.

On her first day as attorney general, Bondi signed a directive titled “Reinstating the Prohibitions on Improper Third Party Settlements” that revived a Justice Department policy adopted in 2017 and was later canceled by the Biden administration.

According to the Times’ Devlin Barrett, the memo explicitly stated that, except in “limited circumstances,” the department should not use settlements “to require payments to nongovernmental, third-party organizations that were neither victims nor parties to the lawsuits.”

“I have never heard of the department ever being willing to grant blanket immunity. That seems blatantly corrupt. It’s a shocking gift to the president,” Jennifer Ricketts, a former branch director in the department’s civil division, told the Times.

Ricketts added: “I’ve just never seen litigation risk outside the four corners of the complaint being used as justification for something in a totally unrelated lawsuit.”

The president’s son, Don Jr., is set to wed socialite Bettina Anderson this weekend, saying “I do” in front of a small group of friends and family in the Bahamas.

The ceremony comes after it was delayed earlier this year, with the pair reportedly wanting to wait until the war in Iran was over.

Brian Morrissey, the department’s general counsel, stepped down a mere seven months after his Senate confirmation, three sources aware of his decision told the New York Times.

Morrissey, who also served in Trump’s first administration, is a former clerk for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, a George H. W. Bush appointee.

The vast payout pot, set up by the Justice Department, was created to settle Donald Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over the leaking of his tax returns during his first term in the White House.

Trump dropped his original lawsuit on Monday after a judge cast doubt on the basic legality of a sitting president filing suit against a department he himself runs.

The Treasury, which now has to deposit the eye-watering sum into an account controlled by a five-member commission hand-picked by Blanche, declined to explain Morrissey’s exit.

Maryland Democrat Jamie Raskin, 63, called it “pure fraud and highway robbery,” while nearly 100 House Democrats filed an amicus brief seeking to block the settlement. The Beast also reported Monday that recipients of the payouts—and the sums they pocket—will be kept hidden from the public.

Miller, ostensibly the second-in-command to White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, has been Trump’s point man on immigration for a decade. During Trump’s first term, he cooked up the idea to separate migrant children from their mothers at the U.S. border, and this term, he pushed hard for 3,000 daily ICE arrests, as well as inflaming dangerous rhetoric against protesters.

Trump has since spoken about Miller’s propensity to “sometimes go too far,” according to White House advisers who spoke to The Atlantic.

A Vatican source told Reuters that the secretary of state is expected to travel to Italy and meet with the pontiff on Thursday, without JD Vance.

Vance himself took a swipe at the pope while at a Turning Point USA event in Georgia, suggesting of God’s voice on earth: “I think it’s very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology.”

He later softened his tone, praising Leo for “preaching the gospel, as he should,” and asking for prayers.

This marks almost a year since Rubio and Vance met Pope Leo together on May 19, 2025, with the Illinois-born pope having so far declined Vance’s invitation to visit the White House.

Doctor and CNN commentator Jonathan Reiner pointed out on Twitter that the White House has a dental office on site, raising questions about whether the visit, which was not on the president’s public schedule, was for an emergency.

“The White House has had a dental operatory since the Hoover Admin. Routine dental exams can be done in the WH,” he wrote in response to a press report about the president’s appointment.

The former GOP congresswoman and one-time Trump devotee lashed out at the president on Sunday, hours after a gunman tried to storm Saturday’s dinner at the Washington Hilton in D.C.

Trump wasted little time using the shooting to argue for the need for his White House ballroom. But Greene accused him of using the fallout to justify another of his priorities: a U.S. spy program.

“The President is using his war on Iran and last night’s WHCD shooting as excuses to give up your rights so that Congress just passes a clean extension of FISA 702,” Greene wrote on Twitter, referring to Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which empowers the administration to intercept the electronic communications of non-U.S. nationals in foreign countries without a warrant.

“It’s ridiculous and absurd that any President who has sworn an oath to uphold the constitution would ever tell Americans to give up your rights so the government has the ability to spy on you, especially a government that has already done it to not only him, but to hundreds of thousands of Americans,” she continued.

Section 702 gathers data on nearly 350,000 foreign nationals who live outside the U.S. but communicate with Americans, meaning those Americans’ calls, texts, and emails can be swept up and accessed by federal officials.

The Instagram page for Sollos Yerba Mate, a business that lists the youngest Trump as one of its directors, was flooded with angry comments as it teased its May launch.

Yerba mate is a traditional herbal tea that originated in South America, and the company’s name is drawn from “sol,” the Spanish word for sun. The business is headquartered at a 4,500-square-foot property in Palm Beach, Florida, where President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate is also located.

The irony of the branding wasn’t lost on social media users, who pointed out that the Trump administration has been hard at work targeting Latino communities under its hardline deportation blitz.

“Nice cultural appropriation...They don’t want Latinos in the U.S. but they want their products. Buy yerba from Latin American countries and do this beverage the natural way!” one user wrote.
