BREAKING: Hegseth Gets SERVED By Mark Kelly

Crazy to pick a fight with an astronaut veteran

Retired United States Navy Captain, astronaut, husband to Gabby Giffords, and United States Senator Mark Kelly just sued Pete Hegseth (no notable relevant achievements) for trying to unconstitutionally demote his rank and decrease his pay.

The reason for Hegseth’s attempted demotion – a video of Sen. Kelly and some of his veteran colleagues telling members of the military to refuse to carry out orders that are illegal.

In his complaint, Sen. Kelly says Hegseth is coming after him purely for his political speech — speech that has been rigorously defended. Previous court cases even state that legislators speaking on policy issues should have their speech protected according to the First Amendment, making Hegseth and the Pentagon’s actions blatantly unconstitutional.

In the video that bothered MAGA so much, the members of Congress said, "Our laws are clear: You can refuse illegal orders. … You must refuse illegal orders.” The only reason I can think of for MAGA being upset about that is if they plan to give out illegal orders… in which case, the Dem veterans are absolutely right. Not only should members of the military refuse to carry out illegal orders, it’s their job as protectors of America and of democracy.

I look forward to seeing how this plays out – I can only assume it’ll lead to another Hegseth debacle (and hopefully his resignation)!
