That is clearly illegal coercion. Influencing a public servant or voter through coercion is a crime under Texas law. I don't know why Collier voted in favor of the chamber rules, which laid out conditions of a potential detainment if one failed to agree to the escort, but Rep. Nicole Collier needs to call her attorney. However, as she says, "I guess I'm being stubborn, like they are."
I truly admire the fighting Dems of Texas! The unlawful treatment of Collier and the others cannot become routine. Being punished for resisting an unlawful act should be praised, not punished. I hope that Collier and the others file a civil suit. They cannot let this behavior go unpunished. They should sue each Republican participant, individually, as well as the state of Texas!
They know it's not legal but figure their corrupt government along with the even more corrupt federal regime will just continue using authoritarian methods of intimidation, captivity and anything else to get rid of opposition.

Agreed. The Texas Dems should all follow Collier's example. I'd like to see "Hot Wheels" try to explain the illegal detention of ALL the Democrats.
