Donald Trump is an American dictator and must be stopped

Throughout the campaign trail, Donald Trump alluded to taking complete control of the country and taking revenge on his political opponents, but MAGA said he didn’t mean it. He said he would be a dictator, but ‘only on day one!’ and MAGA said he was just joking. He consistently refers to his next term and says he’s unsure about running (he constitutionally cannot) while selling Trump 2028 hats, but MAGA said he wasn’t serious. Now, he’s sending the FBI after political rivals, deploying and plotting to deploy the National Guard against Americans from LA to DC, admiringly complimenting other dictators’ length of terms, announcing plans to bypass Congress despite his actions requiring congressional approval, actively changing history in the Smithsonians, and making jokes about not holding elections after his term is up.

This morning, while discussing his military incursions into American cities, Donald Trump said, “A lot of people are saying maybe we'd like a dictator. I don't like a dictator. I'm not a dictator. I'm a man with great common sense and I'm a smart person.”

Earlier this week, Trump refused to argue claims calling him a dictator, instead saying that people are focusing on the wrong thing.

“Already they’re saying, ‘He’s a dictator.’ [Washington, D.C.] is going to hell, and we’ve got to stop it…So instead of saying ‘He’s a dictator,’ they should say, ‘We’re going to join him and make Washington safe,” Trump said.

If it walks like a dictator and talks like a dictator… maybe the mainstream media and other politicians should consider calling him a dictator.

People sometimes ask me how they can help fight back. Firstly, doomerism won’t get us anywhere. Giving up hope is not an option. Spreading important information, talking IRL to your apolitical/ MAGA friends and families, and amplifying protesters and fighters like Rep. Nicole Collier and other members of the Texas State House, Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, and other governors working to fight back against Republican gerrymandering plans, and people like Matt and Jolly, who are pushing back against the admin with other veterans right here in DC, are all options.
