Trump Hits On Kids In Oval Office

This is so weird

My work is always free to read because independent journalism should be accessible to everyone. We’re here to dig deeper, challenge the powerful, make sense of the forces shaping our politics and culture, and keep asking the questions that too often get ignored. Every paid subscription helps make that work possible.

Just $8/month makes a huge difference:

Trump has been making a lot of sudden “announcements” from the Oval Office intended to draw attention to his agenda, but ultimately backfire. Today, he opened his announcement about his “Trump Accounts” with a lot of expected bluster about how kids with these basic savings accounts could become “rich by the time they’re 18” if they choose to put money into it and then bet on the stock market, which they could do with literally any other savings account.

Trump then pivoted to making compliments of the children. He told the children not to movie because they’re “so good looking” that the press needs to admire them.

The comment on it’s own is weird, but is made even more uncomfortable by the fact that Trump IS the Epstein Files.

Speaking of Epstein, did you know the former British banker and whistleblower Simon Andriesz, who flagged Howard Lutnick’s alleged links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has died by suicide?

Andriesz was previously a managing director at Wall Street firm BGC Group where Lutnick, now the US commerce secretary, was chief executive officer.

The death of the 57-year-old was confirmed by Andy Agathangelou, the founder of campaign group Transparency Task Force, which has previously hosted events related to whistleblowing with Andriesz.

I’m sure it’s just a total coincidence!
