Trump Just Declared War on American Cities
Yes, that includes yours
Despite a government shutdown deadline looming, Donald Trump spent the morning assembling 800 of his top military officials in Virginia to complain about ‘political correctness.’
Trump and Pete Hegseth flew out hundreds of military officials from bases across Asia and Europe without any apparent reason and with only a week’s notice — a meeting of unprecedented scale and a likely insane budget, despite the government grinding closer to a federal shutdown.
Hegseth, who spoke first, railed against ‘woke garbage’ in the military, ranting about regulations on facial hair and defending his firing of women and POC. Trump also spent time whining about political correctness, saying, “There are two n-words, and you can’t use either of them” (the other one he’s referring to is ‘nuclear’).
In between praising himself, insulting his predecessor, sharing that he loves ‘Victory at Sea',’ a movie on naval warfare, and rambling on about tariffs, CNN, Putin, and wanting the Nobel Peace Prize, Trump also made a very worrying statement — he said, “We should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military.”
The cities in question? American cities like Chicago and Portland, where Trump is attempting to send the National Guard.
He’s clearly continuing his attack on Democratic cities across the nation, but to suggest that the military should use Americans as training practice begs the question — training for what? Because in my understanding, the military is used to defeat and kill their enemies — so basically, the President of the United States just said his own people are his enemies, and not for the first time.
The military, a traditionally nonpartisan body, was reportedly quiet during Trump’s tirade — Maggie Haberman from The New York Times noted, “It was striking how many times President Trump tried to get the assembled military leaders to break character and laugh when he mocked his predecessors or used his usual political lines. It was also striking how often they resisted before Trump finally threw in the towel.”
The shutdown deadline is in about 12 hours, so I’m glad it seems that Trump is focusing on what really matters. For updates on the shutdown and everything else, feel free to follow along and please consider becoming a free or paid subscriber — it really is the best way to support my work. Either way, thank you for being here.

We live 45 min from Portland. Its a welcoming city. But not for fascists. It's a diverse city, and that makes it a target? We are under siege. Resist. Resist any way you can.
The mental health issues in America, the hate, the violence, the conspiracies, the rhetoric all can be traced back to the politicians and voters by the color hat they are wearing, red will never be a color attributed to love and compassion but rather hate!
