Trump Lied About "America First," and He's Lying About Everything Else Too

Being a puppet for Russia and Qatar doesn't sound very American to me

‘America First’ has been Donald Trump’s go-to phrase for so long, it’s almost hard to remember that it means absolutely nothing to him. Trump and MAGA are corrupt on such a variety of levels and Dems really need to start using their hypocrisy to demonstrate just how much they’re screwing over working class Americans while vilifying immigrants – even though Trump is the real criminal.

Recently, Rep. Jasmine Crockett went viral for questioning Melania Trump’s immigration status amid Trump’s horrifically inhumane ICE raids that are tearing apart families and the physical abuse Dems like Sen. Padilla and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka have suffered at their hands. Rep. Crockett said that the EB-1 visa Melania is on (E stands for Einstein by the way) is reserved for people who have done remarkable things – Pulitzer or Nobel Peace Prize winners, Olympians, etc. Melania Trump is famously none of those things.

Despite his attacks on birthright citizenship and attempts by immigrants to come to the United States legally, Trump also announced that he’ll actually be selling off American citizenship with the “Gold Card,” which is basically a $5 million Green Card for the wealthy to bypass the very immigration laws the Trump administration seems to be fighting so hard to protect. However, the cards haven’t been very popular after the uber-wealthy got more details – after learning that it would essentially just be a $5 million donation to the United States government and doesn’t provide any real benefits the way that an EB-5 visa does, interest has declined significantly. With the EB-5 program, visa-holders can expect a return because it mandates an investment of around $1 million in a business that will create jobs or $800,000 for investments in a 'targeted employment area' – neither of these things are true with the Gold Card.

Trump couldn’t even say how vetting for these cards would go and refused to say if Russian oligarchs would be barred from Gold Card eligibility – in fact, he actually said:

"Yeah possibly," Trump said. "I know some Russian oligarchs that are very nice people."

Good stuff.

Speaking of oligarchs, another thing we seem to have moved on from far too quickly is the jet from Qatar that Trump accepted, though the admin is a little unclear on who exactly owns it. The White House said it was a gift to the Department of Defense and will be handled accordingly, but Trump himself said he plans to donate it to his presidential library after he leaves office – so basically he just got a personal gift from Qatar valued at hundreds of millions of dollars while the unemployment rate increases, inflation increases, and GDP growth is only half of what it was last year under President Biden. Trump’s personal net worth has more than doubled since he started his campaign last year, largely due to his $TRUMP memecoin – he even hosted a dinner (with some of the worst food I’ve ever seen) for his crypto buyers, most of whom are based outside of the United States.

Despite Trump’s rhetoric constantly demonizing immigrants, calling them all violent criminals, and his constant “America First” nonsense, Trump has been making himself and his family richer while being in the pocket of Russia, Qatar, and who knows who else, and he needs to be held accountable.
